It’s a great time of year to enjoy the outdoors, but we need to be aware and careful in areas where there may be blacklegged ticks (also called deer ticks). These are very small ticks - sometimes as small as the period at the end of this sentence. They can carry the germ that causes a bacterial infection called Lyme disease. Deer ticks are found across Nova Scotia. The Nova Scitai Health Authority has provided our school community with information for our teachers, staff, students, parents and guardians.

SIP is now providing an electronic version of the 2014-2015 Student Accident Brochure. All SSRSB schools have received this brochure to forward to parents who have provided their email addresses to the school. Additionally, each school will be receiving 30 hardcopies of this brochure for parents who do not have access to the internet.
