Become an IB Student!! ... It's Not Too Late ... Register Now for Pre-IB and IB Courses

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to register for Pre-IB and IB courses at Park View Education Centre!  If you are ready for an academic challenge that provides excellent preparation for university, then the International Baccalaureate  (IB)  program is for you!!

All current PVEC or future students who are considering the IB Full Diploma Program should contact Ms. Books for more information. Please call 902-541-8204, or email her at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Grade 10 Pre-IB courses are offered as preparation for IB courses in future grades;  they also provide an enriched background for Grade 11 and 12 academic courses.  There are five pre-IB options: PreIB English, Pre IB French, Pre-IB History, Pre-IB Math, Pre-IB Science.

There is no Pre-IB testing or selection process in the spring of 2016.

The official, standardized IB curriculum starts in Grade 11.  Many of the IB courses offered at Park View are studied in both Grades 11 and 12, such as: IB English Literature, IB French  (for students with both core and immersion backgrounds), IB History, IB Mathematics, IB Chemistry, IB Physics, IB Visual Art.

IB Biology and IB Psychology are completed in one year and can be taken by both Grade 11 and Grade 12 students.   A unique IB course called the Theory of Knowledge is taken by those students who choose to complete the full IB Diploma program.

It is recommended that students complete Pre-IB courses before attempting IB courses, but it is possible to start the program as a Grade 11 student.  Grade 12 students can also get involved for the first time by registering for the one-year IB courses mentioned above.

At Park View, we encourage students to register for the full IB Diploma, but we also allow students to register only for for those Pre-IB / IB courses that meet their strengths and interest.  Many choices and opportunities await you in the IB program at Park View!

The International Baccalaureate  (IB)  is a challenging worldwide program that has been offered at Park View Education Centre since 1981;  for further detail please check out .  Our IB Coordinator, Charlotte Brooks is available for questions.
