Downtown Bridgewater Parking Changes

There are exciting changes coming to Bridgewater’s Downtown! Starting on November 1, 2015 the South Parkade on King Street will be closed. The parkade will be removed between November 2 and December 15. Merchant parking in this area will now be available in the Town Hall Parking Lot to make up for the lost permit parking spaces in the South Parkade. Customers and visitors to King Street can park in the North Parkade, the Town Centre Parking Lot, the O’Neil Parking Lot, or on the street. On-street parking is now free for a one year trial period for customers and visitors to the Downtown. King Street will not be closed while the parkade is being removed and our Downtown merchants will be open for business! Come on down, check out the action, and support our local businesses. It’s worth the walk!

This is the first of three phases of improvements in this area of King Street, between the Old Bridge and Dufferin Street. Next spring and summer there will be infrastructure improvements and streetscape improvements made to the block. Finally, next summer and fall a riverfront park will be created where the South Parkade once was. These changes will all lead to a vibrant people-friendly community.
